Fast Pyrolysis Analyzers

The analyser is designed to proceed with pyrolysis tests between 200 °C and 1000 °C of organic, inorganic, or mixed products.
This laboratory system is able to measure the speed and amount of gases produced at zero differential pressure and ambient temperature.
100% of the collected gas, trapped condensed matter, and residue can be analysed at the end of the process.

The Furnace

  • The Pyro Box furnace is fitted with a quartz tube system with an outer diameter of 20mm.
  • The furnace is controlled by PID controller in the range of 200–1100 °C.
  • The heating module has a heating zone of 35mm, which results in the tube having a uniform area of 25 mm.
  • Temperature measurement is done by a K thermocouple placed inside the heating block with 1mm close to the main tube.
  • The gases can be collected in the attached syringe for gas chromatography analysis.

Configuration

The Pyro Box can be used in different configurations, according to your experimental studies.

All the volume measurements are made in real time at atmospheric pressure. Before each operation, an inert gas (generally nitrogen) is injected into the quartz tube.

This inert atmosphere can be changed for the required tests.

  • The instrument is able to measure up to 80 cm3 of generated gases, with a sensitivity of 0.1 cm3. According to the fact that we are using quartz parts in this equipment, the maximum recommended temperature is 1000 °C.
  • Extra light furnace: 200mmx200mmx1200mm; 1.3 kg
  • Extra small measure unit: 360mmx460mmx200mm; 12 kg
  • Integrated CPU: Rasberry Pi 3, Linux Raspbian, and all connections to the network (LAN and WiFi) and USB and monitor
  • Quartz crucible inner dimensions: D = 10 mm, H = 30 mm.
